Each year, Ms. Annette Castor, fifth grade teacher at Osceola Elementary School, asks her students to make a donation to Avow Hospice in lieu of holiday gifts. This year the class collected over $600 to donate to Avow. During the course of the school year the students kept a collections box out for the children to deposit their donations. Earlier this month the students were given the task of counting and organizing the coins that were a large part of the collection in preparation for a presentation to Avow.
On March 25, the students made a presentation to Avow Hospice staff members including President & CEO Karen Rollins. Many of the students made their donations in memory of family, friends or nieghbors.
